Our History
Second Home started under the name Second Home Child Development Center, Inc. by two formerly retired public school teachers – Mrs. Mercedita C. Castro and Mr. Jose J. Castro, with the encouragement from their children especially their son and current school director, Dr. Marvin C. Castro. It all started in a backyard, out of the passion to teach children back in 2003. Second Home started with a few pupils under pre-school level. Due to good feedback from the parents and the accomplishment of the aim to create early readers, Second Home continuously grow in number which led to its ongoing expansion in 2019 catering to early grades. The school was then renamed to Second Home Academy now based in Sabang, Baliuag, Bulacan. Second Home will continue to grow and offer another level each year to give quality basic education starting from preschool up to grade six.

Therefore, in collaboration with the parents, our foremost objective is to provide an atmosphere that encourages the optimum Intellectual, Physical, Social, Emotional and Spiritual growth of a person.

Second Home Academy is committed to enhancing early child’s world by encouraging growth, independence, exploration and discovery. Our center strives to develop children to their fullest potential, making them morally upright and globally competitive through quality teaching, advancement in technology and cooperation between parents and staff in an accepting and nurturing environment.
Our Goals and Objectives
- To educate the whole child by guiding him intellectually, creatively, emotionally, and socially.
- To offer an educational curriculum that stimulates all facets of learning by fostering imagination and fun through creative play and hands-on activities.
- To provide a secure, stress-free, home-like environment where children can explore and discover new things.
- To teach basic health habits, personal hygiene, self-discipline and other desirable habits and practices among learner.
- To equip the individual learner with sound spiritual and moral values which will enable him to think and live in a manner befitting an educated Christian in the society.
